Overview

The Hoist Service Managers responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all the areas of regional field oversight including project management, engineering, fabrication, field operations, equipment utilization, etc.  Hoist Service Managers role is to ensure that all aspects of the region’s field forces are being successfully managed according to Liberty Equipment & Supply’s standard operating procedures. They are also responsible for all aspects of machine record keeping and spare parts replenishment. 

 

This position will be based in Baltimore / Middle River, MD area.

Responsibilities

  • Leads all service operations including customer relations
  • Training of all service employees
  • Overseeing the service technician’s work area
  • Implementing shop schedules for fabrication, maintenance and service
  • Prioritizing service calls
  • Enforcing shop and field safety protocols
  • Maintain and upload all inspections/observations into Intelex database
  • Supervision of all field and shop staff
  • Ensure proper training and certification for compliance with corporate procedures
  • Delegate duties to shop foreman to ensure department works efficiently, safe, profitable
  • Resolve maintenance issues and determine current and future equipment requirements
  • Owns and optimizes process for growth, refurbishment, and redeployment of equipment
  • Develop and sustain inventory management for fleet and service parts
  • Coordinates with office staff, field team and vendors to maintain equipment planning schedule, activities and deliveries
  • Schedule and coordinate all field maintenance, equipment mobilization and demobilization
  • Sustain clean work environment and maintain inventory of company tools
  • Stay current on all factory technical bulletins
  • Monitoring and managing equipment hailing and shipping for the service department

Qualifications

  • Seeking 5 to 10 years’ experience working as an Equipment & Supply supplier or equivalent.
  • Certified as a hoist and crane technician is preferred.
  • Strong project management and cost estimating skills.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of project safety.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Able to effectively pass their knowledge to those working under them in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities between business needs, organizational issues, and sound customer relations
  • A strong sense of urgency and initiative. Able to quickly study and react to complex issues
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to confidently and decisively take action
  • Team leader with excellent diplomatic and communication skills, able to handle and resolve conflicts effectively in a firm but fair manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced professional, team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to travel to various job sites.

Working Conditions

Construction jobsite and warehouse conditions, which include exposure to high temperatures; cool/cold temperatures; weather conditions, and loud noises.  Some general office and construction trailer working conditions. Job site walking.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level and spend additional time on the physical job site or construction trailer. Job site walking.

 

Our good faith estimate of the compensation range for this opportunity is a base salary of $110,000 to $140,000 if based in Baltimore, MD. Individual pay decisions will vary based upon the experience and qualifications of the applicant. This range is based upon Baltimore, MD market rates and determined by considering many factors such as external market salary survey data, internal data for comparable roles, and the operational and budgetary objectives of the company. Liberty also offers a comprehensive benefits package as part of its overall compensation strategy.
