The Role:

Liberty is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager of Self-Perform Concrete for the Florida market. This pivotal role is instrumental in ensuring project success, maintaining superior quality standards, and strengthening client relationships. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of concrete construction, exceptional leadership skills, and a steadfast commitment to safety and excellence. With a proven track record in the industry, the General Manager will drive innovation, foster collaboration, and uphold the company's reputation as a leader in the construction sector. Furthermore, this individual will play a key role in strategic decision-making, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities


Work Acquisition and Client Management:

  • Actively build Liberty’s network of relationships with developers, General Contractors, architects, engineers, other partners, and community leaders
  • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with the business development team to identify growth opportunities.

 

People Development:

  • Recruit key staff and help advise on all concrete self-perform hires
  • Create group organizational structure and staffing
  • Oversee and direct the administrative and support functions of the group
  • Implement strategy and development of Liberty’s business development proposals with the goal of winning new concrete self-perform projects.
  • Assist in production of Liberty’s collateral materials including corporate capabilities books, award submittals, ads and presentations.
  • Assist with job tracking and CRM.

 

Project Management, Quality and Safety:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of concrete projects per Liberty’s standards.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with project stakeholders, Liberty management staff, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Monitor scope progress and ensure on-time delivery within budget constraints.
  • Establish and enforce stringent quality control measures to uphold Liberty’s reputation for excellence.
  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all industry regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify opportunities for enhancement.

 

P&L Management:

  • NOI forecasting and maintenance projections
  • Revenue and income projections
  • G&A planning and management
  • Risk management
  • Cash flow
  • Contracts to prescribed limits
  • Coordination of legal matters

 

Contract Management and Risk Management

  • Review, negotiate, and finalize contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and terms to mitigate financial and legal risks.
  • Identify potential financial risks and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies and procedures.

               

Construction Operations:   

  • Champion the concrete safety effort, driving a Safety culture on all concrete projects.
  • Ensure Crisis Management planning is in place and understood.
  • Ensure all Operations staff support and drive compliance with Liberty’s standard operating procedure
  • Develop feedback loops to allow for the sharing of information.
  • Monitor KPIs, evaluate trends and drive improvement and learning where necessary.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 15+ years in the construction/management services industry
  • Energetic, enthusiastic self-starter with excellent communication skills and an eye for detail.
  • Outstanding team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work experience and deep relationships with developers, designers and subcontractors in this market.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
